Thurs May 8th - Swing @ Slims
GRSwing is bringing a free swing dancing lesson to River City Slims blues club located at 243 Comerce in downtown Grand Rapids. This Week’s lesson The Lindy Hop from 8:00 – 9:00 pm. Come on out and join the fun, no partner required. Following the lesson enjoy some DJed jazz music until 10:00 PM. Lesson is for all ages, but must be 21 after 9:00 pm.
Fri May 9th - Slims & Social
Aaron & the HooDo are performing at River City Slims Located at 243 Comerce. Live music starts at 9:00 PM and goes until 12:30 AM. Admission is $5, must be at least 21.
The Social Dance Studio is hosting its weekly Friday night social dance located at 4335 Lake Michigan Drive. The party begins with a lesson from 8-9 PM and then continues with a Social dance untill 11 PM. Cost is $5.
Sat May 10th - River City Slims
The Crossroads are performing at River City Slims Located at 243 Comerce. Live music starts at 8:30 PM and goes until 12:30 AM. Admission is $10, must be at least 21.
Sun May 11th - Murphy's Law
Murphy’s Law is performing at Westwood Ranch. Dance lessons at 6 taught by Hans K. Kliphuis of Top Hat Entertainment, followed by open dancing from 7:00 until 10:00 PM. Cost is $5.00.
Tues May 13th - GRSwing & G.R.O.S.S.
GRSwing is hosting a progressive Lindy Hop lesson from 7-8 PM at the Social Dance Studio located at 4335 Lake Michigan Drive. Come learn the orignal lead and follow dance originating right here in the US. Cost is $10 per class or $50 for the entire six week course.
The Grand Rapids Original Swing Society (G.R.O.S.S.) has an arial swing dancing lesson at 8:00 pm followed by the live music of Java Jive from 8:30-10 PM at the Rosa Park Circle. Cost is $2.
